Parking Discovery & Reservation Platform

Helping drivers find, compare and reserve parking with confidence.

The Problem

Finding parking is often stressful because drivers don’t know where they can park, whether a space is available, how much it will cost, or how far it is from their destination? especially in events or airport areas

The issues from existing workflow

Uncertain availability

Users don’t know whether a parking space will actually be available when they arrive.

Difficult comparison

Price, distance and availability are often difficult to compare across options.

Too much decision-making

Users have to move through multiple screens before they can decide where to park.

The Challenge

How might we help drivers quickly find and confidently reserve the right parking spot near their destination?

Understanding the User

I explored how drivers currently search for parking, what information they consider important, and where uncertainty appears during the journey and also analyzed customer feedback/ reviews  to identify recurring pain points across the parking journey

Research focus

  • How do people currently find parking?
  • What information do they need before choosing a parking spot?
  • What makes them trust a parking option?
  • When do they decide to reserve?
  • What happens when their preferred parking option isn’t available?

The feedback revealed that friction wasn’t concentrated in one screen. The problem wasn’t simply “users need to find parking.” Users needed enough information to feel confident that they had found the right parking.

Four things became clear

Availability is a trust signal

Users need to know that a parking space is actually available before committing to it.

Price needs to be easy to understand

Users want to know the parking cost before making a decision.

Users need to compare options quickly

Distance, price and availability influence the parking decision together.

Booking is only one part of the journey

The transition from reservation to navigation should feel like one continuous experience.

The User Representation

Competitive Analysis

I then looked at existing parking experiences to understand how competitors approached the same journey. I evaluated the end-to-end experience across mobile and web.

Discovery

Parking options are available, but users still need to explore multiple places to compare them.

Comparison

Price, distance and availability aren’t always presented together.

Booking

Reservation is treated as a separate action rather than part of the overall parking journey.

Opportunity

Create a parking experience where users can discover, compare and reserve from the same decision-making context.

Decision

Based on the research, I defined few important features to be included

Show availability early

Don’t make users discover availability after exploring a listing.

Make comparison effortless

Bring price, distance and availability together.

Reduce unnecessary decisions

Help users make the parking decision with fewer steps.

Connect booking to navigation

Once the parking spot is reserved, help the user get there.

The proposed experiences of userflow

The Solution

Find parking around your destination

The destination becomes the starting point rather than making users search for parking separately.

Compare parking at a glance

Users shouldn’t have to open several parking details pages just to compare basic information.

Understand the parking option

Display all the parking options so that user can decide – Is this the parking spot I want?

Reserve with confidence

The user should clearly understand: Where they’re parking? When they’re parking? How much they’re paying?

Outcome

The redesigned experience brings availability, price and distance into the parking decision, helping users move from: “Where can I park?” to “This is the parking spot I want.”

What I learned

Parking is not just a location problem. It’s a confidence problem.

Users need enough information to make a decision before they commit. Users need enough information to make a decision before they commit.
